Today was weigh in and I've lost 5.8lbs, good thing I bought the fancy scale that breaks it down for you; I wouldn't want to get cocky and claim I've lost an entire 6lbs.
Today's challenge revolved around dinner. I am presently going to school for my MAT and taking night classes. My current schedule includes a class on Wednesday from 4:00to 6:00pm, which is fine; I can wait until 6:00 to eat...really
However, tonight we had a workshop to attend after class which ran until 8pm; this would be a challenge. The professor was kind enough to let us take a short break before starting the workshop so I ran to the Cafe to grab a quick bite. The beauty of this is that I attend Johnson & Wales University, which has a culinary school on the same campus as the MAT program, so the menu is not your typical school cafeteria grub. I ordered a grilled chicken salad with red pepper vinaigrette dressing...mmm that will hit the spot! However, I was only able to have a few bites before I needed to head back to the workshop, so I took the salad with me, figuring I could eat it at home.
Midway through the class two culinary students arrived at the door announcing they had extra food from their class (this of course never happened prior to Operation Thin Bride) the class broke out in cheers and the professor opened the box and moaned "ooh, cinnamon buns"...I think she then said something about apple turnovers but I can't be certain as a loud buzzing noise had begun ringing in my ears..
A free box of cinnamon buns from culinary students...really?!?! Oh, how the diet Gods mock me..Sadists!! Hit me with your best shot!! You will not see me waiver..Victory is mine!! Now excuse me while I take a few bites of my salad..
Not wanting to sit through class chopping on a salad, I again placed the lid over my salad after only a few bites and planned on finishing it when I got home. The lid wouldn't fasten very well, but it would be fine.. so long as I didn't need to suddenly stop short on the drive home..
I arrived home with the salad in tact..all was well, I met temptation head-on and won this battle, now all there was left to do was enjoy my victory over a salad..
As I opened the front door to my house, my loving dog Osito was especially happy to see me return home and decided to do something he never normally does..jump up at me
I watched in horror as the salad I had been waiting 2 hours to eat dropped to the ground, cherry tomatoes rolled into the bushes as a pool formed and dripped red pepper vinaigrette down my front steps and into the snow...I swear it could have been cinematic genius!!..Alas, I don't own a video camera, and I'm not artistic..just hungry, very very hungry
I was left with no choice but to heat up a can of soup and call it a day.. 268 days until the wedding
